The CEO's Fabulous Ex-Wife - Chapter 227
by Lucia Love
“I wouldn’t have mentioned it if I didn’t want to know,” Michelle responded, rather cautiously.
Ezrah took his time and explained it to her.
“I always saw your work and never had a problem with it. That was the reason I always had you submit it to Madison.”
“But I wanted more,” Michelle countered, not hiding it anymore. “I wanted you to flaunt me around, to get intimate with you in the office like you always did at home, and yet, you always avoided me.”
Her voice turned sad in the end. It was painful when she saw pictures of him with Piper back then when he kept her secret.
Even after announcing their marriage, he never took her out publicly. It was as if he was ashamed of her.
“That was my biggest mistake because I was afraid to accept that I was in love with you and hurt the person who turned out to be the wrong one. My priorities were set in stone. I’m really sorry,” Ezrah said honestly.
However, Michelle looked disturbed, so he wiped his hand with a paper towel and went around her desk.
“What do you want?” Michelle asked, rather nervously. Ezrah smiled remorsefully and held her hand.
“Please stand up.”
As soon as she did, he pulled her into his arms and caressed her hair.
“I regret everything, but honestly, even right now, I’m just afraid that you might get upset if I move too fast.”
Michelle pulled away, stared into his eyes, and said honestly, “Just be true to yourself, Ezrah, and that is the only way for you to please me.”
With their gazes locked together, they both felt their attraction for each other grow.
“Do you know what you are saying, Zora? I won’t be able to survive it if you get upset because of my nature.”
He wanted her so much in every way that it hurt. He was grateful for the bit of herself she gave him and could not ask for more.
Their relationship was still at a fragile stage, so how could he dare to make any demand? He did not even deserve it.
Michelle nodded her head with glassy eyes. “But it doesn’t suit you if you pretend.”
Ezrah felt helpless against her when she spoke like that.
If she really knew what he had in mind, would she have said that? “Oh Zora, what do I do without you?”
Without permission, his lips pressed against hers, and she responded to his kisses rather hungrily.
It was clear that she wanted this, just as he wanted. Ezrah sat at the edge of the desk, ensuring not to cause a mess, as he pulled her into his arms.
His fingers slipped into her blazer, and he took it off as he sucked her neck, leaving a hickey.
A moan escaped Michelle as she completely melted into his arms.
“I love you, Zora, please marry me again,” Ezrah said. Michelle stiffened and instantly pulled away.
“Fuck,” Ezrah cursed under his breath. He ruined everything. “Forget what I said. Please finish up your food.”
Michelle thought to straighten things as she had encouraged him to be himself. Per her nature, she would always take responsibility for her actions.
“Ezrah, can we finish the two weeks probation before you talk about marriage?” Her voice was soft and her eyes carried no offense.
Pursing his lips, Ezrah nodded his head in agreement. They went back to eating and chatting as if nothing had happened.
It was the first time Ezrah made her laugh, something he never did even when they were married before.
“I will pick you up at five,” Ezrah finally said after packing the leftovers to discard on his way out.
Michelle was filled with sadness when Ezrah left the office, but so was he. If he had his way, he would spend every second of his life with her, but apparently, he had the chance before when they worked in the same company but did not take advantage of it.
Now, things were different, and they both had to adjust to it.
“Busy?” Coco’s head poked out of the doorway as she asked. Michelle was slightly disgruntled by her negligence of her.
“He finally released you,” Michelle responded sarcastically, but Coco equally caught sight of the hickey on her neck.
“Don’t tell me you are jealous. I see you both made out.”
Michelle’s face crimsoned. “I just miss you, but how did you know?”
Coco chuckled and adjusted Michelle’s shirt collar to hide the hickey.
“I miss you too, so can we have a girl’s day or night? I don’t think Madison would refuse,” she proposed. Michelle was excited about the idea except…
“That isn’t a bad idea. We could have it after the premiere except,” Michelle remembered something and paused.
“Except what?” Coco asked eagerly.
